Premier Waste Management has received noticed from the Environment Agency to a change to their requirements for this material. Previously, CLO not shown to have reached the required temperature was allowed to be used for landfill restoration. Read More

As predicted last month the main contractor made the required progress for us to accept the installation as sufficiently complete for the plant to be formally taken over under the contract.

During the month of September various minor works were carried out by the main contractor and their subcontractors to resolve minor snags such as leaks and software glitches.

At the end of the month the plant was still under the main contractor’s responsibility and insurance and is likely to be formally taken over by Premier in mid-October at the current rate of progress.

Animal by-products regulations approval
In a review meeting on the 10 August the State Veterinary Service granted the Tower 3 Initial Approval as all the necessary tests had been passed.
Full approval for the plant was granted in September by Animal Health (formerly known as State Veterinary Service) for the new NTDP tower 3.
Animal Health highlighted that whilst the existing two towers were already approved they required renewal within 12 months. A new application for all three towers was submitted following the meeting.

August 2007: Construction now complete |

Following on from last month’s report the final few cladding jobs such as trims and flashings were completed and the scaffolding dismantled. The contractor finished off some minor internal detail such as drains and block-work edgings and once completed the snagging list demobilised from site.

Works to complete Construction
Cladding works continued and specialist scaffolding was hired in to provide safe access to the sides of the new building which stand above the roof of the existing building. The heavy rain hampered progress with these completion works but it proved to be more of a nuisance than a problem as it didn’t really interfere with plant throughput.
